the petition for daily bread said in the words that refuse bread. Christ to the tempter: man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. This is the second time in two leaves that the fourth petition is made out of a text against bread — set II built it from Job's self-curse of thistles for wheat. The petition is never simply asked.

the centurion at Capernaum: Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof. The prayer opens by taking a soldier's words about his house and applying them to a soul, which is why the roof of the next line is the roof of a house that is not a house.

cast out into outer darkness

the plate's continuation reference, i.e. Matt. viii. 20, twelve verses on from the centurion: the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. The complaint is Christ's own and it is turned round. He had nowhere to lay his head in the world; the prayer says there is no fit place to lay it here either, in me. The same verse is made to indict the man praying, and the two references are joined for that purpose — which is only visible once you know that Vers. means the book last named.
