13sancte et cum omni veneratione habendum ab
14omnibus, et a quibusdam plus magis aliis,
15meque imprimis super multos.
16Non habui tamen:
17nec quod juxta me fuit conatus sum facere.
18Væ mihi misero, quod non,
19ingenue fateor.
20Ex animo doleo { καρδίᾳ, / νοΐ, / ψυχῇ, / πνεύματι. }
21Supplex veniam posco, supplex gratiam,
22Dehinc ut sic loquar, faciam, vivam,
23ut sanctificetur nomen Tuum,
24utinam et ab aliis propter me!

16Yet I have not so held it:
17neither have I endeavoured to do what lay in me.
18Woe is me, wretched, that I have not —
19I confess it freely.
20From my soul I grieve { in heart, / in mind, / in soul, / in spirit. }
21A suppliant I ask pardon, a suppliant grace,
22That henceforth I may so speak, so do, so live,
23that thy Name may be hallowed,
24and would to God by others also for my sake!
