2ΔΟΞΑ ἐν ὑψίστοις Θεῷ,
3καὶ ἐπὶ γῆς εἰρήνη,
4ἐν ἀνθρώποις εὐδοκία.
5Αἰνοῦμέν σε,
6εὐλογοῦμέν σε,
7προσκυνοῦμέν σε,
8δοξολογοῦμέν σε,
9εὐχαριστοῦμέν σοι,
10διὰ τὴν μεγάλην σου δόξαν,
11Κύριε βασιλεῦ ἐπουράνιε,

5We praise thee,

8we glorify thee,
9we give thanks to thee,
10for thy great glory,
11O Lord, heavenly King,
12O God the Father Almighty,
13O Lord, the only-begotten Son,
14Jesu Christ,
15and O Holy Ghost.
16O Lord God,
17the Lamb of God,
18the Son of the Father,
19Thou that takest away the sins of the world,
20have mercy upon us.
21Thou that takest away the sins of the world,
22receive our prayer.
23Thou that sittest at the right hand of the Father,

25* This is perhaps that Hymn which C. Pliny makes mention of, in the
26Epistle xxvii. of book x., in these words: "That the Christians were wont on
27a set day to meet before daylight, and to sing a Hymn to Christ as unto God,
28by turns among themselves."

16Worthy art thou at all times
17to be hymned with holy voices,
